Australiana

As we enjoyed smoko on the verandah one fine Summery morning this past week, we sighted a kangaroo not far down the paddock.

Nothing particularly unusual, until joined by a fellow native Australian.

And long as I waited, they would not move into the Coat of Arms formation I was hoping for.

What is it they say, never work with animals or kids?

I'm doomed.

  2. HA! You reminded me of a distant memory of an emu wandering into our yard as children in Cunnamulla! Funny things!

A little bit ambitious weren't you? ha ha.
Looks like that paddock has got plenty of grass still. Did you get any of the rain? It drizzled on and off after the good morning drenching here in Brisbane. Pretty cloudless and clear at the moment, but the temperature is great.

  5. So close! If you do manage to get a good shot, please send it to whoever makes the shields attached to all the federal buildings - their impression of a kangaroo is hopeless!

  6. You Australians have all the fun! The most wild life I ever see in my back yard is the occasional mouse!
