The Big Day Out

Christmas shopping.
Check.
Annual beachside holiday.
Check.
Short-lived as it was, it was the perfect break from normality.
Blues making a most pleasant change from the browns currently surrounding us.

My boy.

My  girls.

Anyone recognise this gesture?
It's the "Seriously, are you taking another photo?" look.

We left our mark.
Beachside graffiti.

The crease in my brow belying the relaxation I was enjoying.

We even picked up a spare.

Ernest discussions.

Home now.
Presents to wrap.
Christmas treats to cook.
Excited children to subdue.

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

  1. It looks like a wonderful mini break!
Your heat has made it's way down here and we are all managing as best as we can - looking rather pale and lily white.

Merry Christmas to you all Fiona - all the best for 2013.

  2. well aren't you sounding far more rested and refreshed, and what a great looking place for a break, mini or otherwise (for the record, I thought the big fella's pose was something to do with Where's The Golf Ball Gone?!)

LOVE the black hat, seriously you have the best hat collection ever, and what a great family snap. One of the better ones for the album. And what book were you reading, it must have required quite some concentration! (nearly did not recognise you without the regulation hat)

Thanks for another year of sharing the adventures of your family, and from ours to yours, may your Christmas morning dawn dripping with the good stuff, and New Year with tinges of green (obviously with much more of the wet stuff to follow, I most certainly hope).

  5. There is something about that salt air and blue water that seems so relaxing & refreshing!
I did smile when Rob came home from town and said, "You wouldn't believe who I saw in the shopping centre!"
Merry Christmas to you all! The anticipation is killing some here....
