Tip Top Toes

From mustering cattle and branding calves to repairing fences and hauling hay, our girls are not only encouraged to, but expected to participate in all areas of our working life.

Sunday afternoon the girls and I headed back a little earlier from Bottle Tree than the boys to ensure animals at Rock Wallaby were fed and watered before dark.

And apparently to ensure our finger and toe-nails were in tip-top shape.

Quick to change from work jeans to shorts and after a quick hit of hand-ball, the nail detailing commenced.

Pretty pastel pink for the youngest,

and ravishing red for the teenager.

The cows sure do appreciate being tended by such well-groomed young girls.

  1. Ah at least they are having fun working and being girls :)

  2. Oh that looks like you think my boys would do that with me?

  3. This post was just wonderful! And they look so happy.

  4. Well rounded and beautiful. Your babes are a credit to you and your husband.

  5. Love it! Girly girls under those akubras! I've just discovered your blog and really enjoying the read! I'm from country Victoria and grew up on a farm, tiny in comparison to yours. I am a country girl at heart and love the outback and travelling this amazing country of ours. Have seen much of QLD so can relate to where you're based! Looking forward to visiting again and reading more about your adventures and life on your farm! Cheers :)

  6. This is all sorts of fab, Fiona. This is exactly the kind of attitude that a modern gal needs. x

  7. no wonder Wallace was detailed to stay with dad for some boy time. There's a little man in these parts that has to have manicures and make up too, or else be forced to do the most dreaded of things (play by one self). His eyes light up when ever any male visitor under the age of 20 comes through our front gate!
